Final Horizon

     I keep exploring
for a whole more than the parts
a flow that dances

Wish the angels would
help me walk on water
I would be light enough then
to go to those islands
on the horizon line
across the Salish Sea
to not be carrying all I’ve made

But I don’t yet know how to live
without most of that stuff / my ego included
and I’m always making more stuff
Those early creations need to go

I’m still learning who
God created me
to be
to live with losses / already suffered
to say yes to
the dissolutions to come
to know my work is finished
and that I am going home / but not yet

Though now I trust
that homing imaginary
and those flights of angels
and I am content

  1. I like the poem. Even sorrows are too heavy for walking on the water.
